It seems no one is happy with the NFL's decision to have those much reviled Canucks, Nickelback, play the halftime show in Detroit on Thanksgiving Day. Especially those of us in Detroit, a city with a musical tradition which has few rivals.
Not that online petitions mean jack, or accomplish a damn thing, but the "The Detroit Lions: Replace Nickelback as the halftime show for the Thanksgiving game" petition has over 55K signatures. The internet uprising didn't stop the monolith which is the No Fun League, but it did attract attention nationwide.
It also got the attention of Nickelback.
With the help of the always funny Paul Scheer of "The League," this is Nickelback's response to the controversy.
Hell, rather than do a short set of their repetitve "music," Nickelback would be better served to just do this bit on Thanksgiving instead.
I'm still not a fan of their music, but I have to admit...Nickelback might have a future in improv comedy.
